Baaghi 3 Review
Director – Ahmed Khan
Cast – Tiger Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Ankita Lokhande
The third instalment in Baaghi franchise, this one too comes loaded with over the top dialogue Baaji, action sequences, and cheesy comedy and eventually, Ronnie, the India superman without a cape, kills everyone and comes home.
There are car explosion, tank chase, helicopter chase, and bomb going off every ten minutes, laced with remix songs at the wrong time, Baaghi 3 is an classic example of commercial drama which shouldn’t be watched for content, perhaps, for Indian take on Hollywood actioners. The filmmaker didn’t waste any time to copy every possible action sequences from Hollywood and gave it a Bollywood twist.
The story revolves around Ronnie and his brother Vikram, the duo is in-separable and Ronnie being the badass, so he is always getting in scrap for his brother, who is little weak. In a sudden twist, Vikram is kidnapped by a terrorist group called Jaish-e-Lashkar in Syria and Ronnie sets off on a rescue mission, which results in massive body count.
Director Ahmed Khan was a choreographer before he took to direction, and it shows on screen. The grammar of filmmaking is of no-consequence to him, he takes every trick in the book to make ‘Baaghi 3’ an action entertainer with elements that are clearly from different planet.
Tiger Shroff as Ronnie, delivers a knockout action based performance with his perfect body and attitude make all the stylized action look real. Shraddha Kapoor looks beautiful and brings in some good comic relief in the first half. But her character isn’t very crucial to the story and hence, she doesn’t have much scope to perform.
Riteish Deshmukh, on the other hand, has an important role, but there is no explanation about why he acts like a slow man-child, who keeps screaming for his brother all the time!
There is Disha Patani as well in the film; she has been roped in for a sizzling and hot item number!
The film is over-loaded with style, explosion, guns and bullets, ammunition which can cause world war, but nothing hits Ronnie, and he hits everything! If you’re Tiger Shroff and action fan, this is sure shot winner for you!
