The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family Is Not a Family Entertainer

ALTBalaji just brought out the special screener of its upcoming web series, The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family. The series is about a family that as the name suggests is dysfunctional. It stars well known names like Kay Kay Menon, Barun Sobti, Shriswara and Swaroop Sampath, who makes her return to acting after almost a decade. Here’s our complete review.

The Ranaut family lives in a sleepy, small town and comprises of the Mrs.Ranaut, her two sons, played by Kay Kay and Barun, their respective wives, played by Eisha Chopra and Shriswara, and the youngest generation, played by Sanaya Pithawala.

The series has a quick screenplay and immediately delves into why the family is dysfunctional. Also, most of the cliches are ticked in this one. So, we have the weed smoking, the girls drinking, the lesbian kiss, so on and so forth.

The performances are actually good, with the first episodes talking about the youngest member of the family’s issue and the series unfolding with the deep, dark secrets that everyone in the family has. Because the series has a number of characters, there’s no particular character who stands out. However, all of them give decent performances and keep the audience engaged.
