Ekta Kapoor'sThe Married Woman' is the story of Astha played by Ridhi Dogra who rediscovers herself when she meets Peeplika played by Monica Dogra. The show is releasing on Alt Balaji on 8th March, Woman's Day. Monica Dogra spoke to News Helpline about her experience working on the show and much more.
Sharing her experience, she said, "I always used to think should I act or not? But since the time I was offered this role, I was very clear in my mind of doing it. The story of 'The Married Woman' is the one I want to tell as an actor. Everything about the show feels so right."
Talking about her role Peeplika in the show, she said, "Through the trailer of the show, people have judged that Peeplika and Astha are two different people, they have no similarities, how can they come close to each other? But after watching the show, you will realize, these two characters have the same emotions. They both want to be loved and accepted. It showcases that love breaks down every wall and it takes you to places you never expected."
Talking about being judged for playing such a role, Monica said, "I think love is universal. Judgment comes from fear. We judge things when we don't understand something. We have a long way to go in normalizing things for women. But it is getting better because we are sharing stories like these."
The Married Woman is directed by Sahir Raza which is releasing on Alt Balaji on 8 March 2021. The show features Ridhi Dogra, Monica Dogra, Suhaas Ahuja, and Nabeel Ahmed in prominent roles.
