Abhimanyu Dassani unveils the first look of the Netflix film ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’ co-starring Sanya "Malhotra".
Actor Abhimanyu Dassani unveiled the first look of his upcoming Netflix film ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’ on social media on Wednesday. In the film, Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu will be seen as South Indian bride Meenakshi and groom Sundareshwar respectively.
Sharing the poster of the film on his Instagram handle, Abhimanyu wrote, “What's in a name? My wife Meenakshi and I can assure you- a lot. #MeenakshiSundareshwar, coming soon to Netflix. netflix_in karanjohar apoorva1972 sanyamalhotra_ vivek.sonni somenmishra dharmaticent”.
In the poster, Sanya looks lovely as a bride in a yellow and red sari with traditional gold jewelry whereas, Abhimanyu is a typical groom in a white shirt and dhoti. The two are seen holding the sacred cloth used to keep the bride and groom together during the pheras.
‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’ marks the first collaboration between Abhimanyu Dassani Sanya Malhotra. It is Malhotra’s second association with Netflix after ‘Ludo’ and Dassani’s debut.
The film revolves around a young couple in south India facing issues of long-distance and the struggles of marriage. The film is set in Madurai, Tamil Nadu and it explores a couple’s chaotic and hilarious story about their relationship, marriage, and love.
‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’ is directed by Vivek Soni and produced by Karan Johar’s digital content division Dharmatic Entertainment.
Abhimanyu Dassani will also feature in Sabbir Khan’s upcoming action-comedy film titled ‘Nikamma’ along with Shirley Setia and Shilpa Shetty Kundra in lead roles.
