"Amitabh Bachchan unveils teaser of short film ‘Doobie’; ".

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan unveiled a teaser of a short film named ‘Doobie’ on his social media handles on Thursday. The 17-minute short film is written and directed by Keith Gomes. According to Google, ‘Doobie’ refers to marijuana cigarettes or joints. Clearly, Senior Bachchan’s timing of promoting a film went wrong as its title is related to the name of a drug.

As soon as Bachchan shared a promo of the film on his social media, a section of netizens started trolling him. They questioned ‘Khakee’ actor’s silence over Sushant Singh Rajput's death and Bollywood's alleged drug links, at a time when Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has issued summons to film stars such as Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh.

Taking to his Facebook handle, Bachchan shared a teaser of ‘Doobie’ and captioned it as, “Presenting #DOOBIE the undying spirit of a 5-year-old ragpicker .. a film by Keith Gomes #child4ev .. Keith was an AD on my film Aladdin .. come a long way .. my congratulations !! Keith Ohm”.

‘Doobie’ revolves around a 5-year-old child, living the life of a rag picker in a garbage dump. The film sees the child in pursuit of a desire, amidst the fast paced madness life is in the city of Mumbai.

It stars Rupesh Birade, Kripa patil, Ramy Bisht, Francis Lobo and Anil Soares in important roles.

Recently, Amitabh Bachchan wife Jaya Bachchan delivered a speech at the parliament where she alleged that a continuous attempt to defame the film industry is being made, taking an indirect jibe at actor-politician Ravi Kishan and Kangana Ranaut who claimed that the consumption of drugs is a rampant practice in the film industry.

After recovering from Covid-19, Bachchan has started shooting for the 12th season of the reality quiz show ‘Kaun Banega CrorePati’.

On the film front, Bachchan next will be seen onscreen in Nagraj Manjule’s ‘Jhund’, Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’, and Rumi Jaffery’s ‘Chehre’.
