"Bittersweet Trailer Is Out And This One Is Gut-Wrenching".
After making headlines for having its World Premiere at Prestigious Busan International Film Festival, the makers of Bittersweet are out the first official trailer for the film, which is apparently based on a true story.
Ananth Narayan Mahadevan directorial Bittersweet stars Akshayaa Gaurav in the lead role, promises a hard-hitting and gripping narrative that delves on the injustices meted out to women laborers in the sugar fields.
While the corporate world has been debating on the serious issue of granting period leave to women who experience severe pain as part of its HR policies, the women in the sugar fields of Beed district in rural Maharashtra face a traumatizing future thanks to the harsh rules of the sugar industry.
Ananth Mahadevan's Bittersweet is about the lives of poor women who seem to have no way out but to remove their womb to avoid the pain and penalties when they are forced to take 3 to 4 days off from the sugar fields.
The film is bankrolled by Suchhanda and Shubha Shetty under Quest Films.
