What happens when the King of Entertainers and Masala Films compete with his own film? Well, we get another laughter riot to binge-watch on the weekend. Yes, we are talking about David Dhawan's 45th directorial venture COOLIE NO 1. which is a remake of his own film that was released 25 years ago.
Hands down, David Dhawan is the real entertainer of Bollywood. He has given numerous masala films to the audience which made them laugh with tears and Coolie No. 1 starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan is no exception. The film has great humor, beautiful songs, lots of drama, and everything that is needed to entertain the audience, and Yes, without any logic. The film is just pure entertainer which one has to watch without any logic and intellect.
The plot of the film is similar to the one starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. Jeffery Rozario (Paresh Rawal) a Goan hotelier wants his daughter Sarah (Sara Ali Khan) to marry a millionaire. Raj a porter / coolie (Varun Dhawan) falls in love with her and pretends to be a tycoon. What happens next is a laughter joy ride with hardcore entertainment.
Varun Dhawan has once again proven that he can get into any character effortlessly. Only he could act a role which was earlier played by Govinda. Paresh Rawal is an actor par excellence. You give him any role and he will master it. Sara Ali Khan is also good. The supporting cast of Shikha Talsania, Sahil Vaid, Johny Lever, Jaaved Jafferi, Rajpal Yadav, and Manoj Joshi adds to the film.
All in all, the film is a complete family film which will entertain everyone in the family. The perfect watch for Christmas 2020.
