Singer, Musician and Poet, Narendra Chanchal famously known for his Bhajans and Aartis has passed away.
Narendra Chanchal, popularly known as 'Bhajan Samrat' has passed away in New Delhi. He was 80 years old. He died during his treatment at Apollo Hospital in Delhi in the morning.
Singer Daler Mehndi just took to his social media profile and expressed his grief. He tweeted, “Deeply saddened to learn that iconic and most loved #NarendraChanchal ji has left us for the heavenly abode. In prayers for his soul to rest in peace. Heartfelt condolences to his family and legions of fans”
After years of struggle, Chanchal sang a Bollywood song Beshak Mandir Masjid for the 1973 film Bobby and won Filmfare Best Male Playback Award. He also earned honorary citizenship of the US state of Georgia.
Chanchal has released an autobiography called Midnight Singer which narrates his life, struggles and hardships leading to achievements. He visits Katra Vaishno Devi every year on December 29 and performs on the last day of the year.
He was the king of mother's gifts. Narinder Chanchal's religious song sung with Mohammad Rafi in Jatinder and Reena Rai's film 'Asha' 'Tune Mujhe Bulaya Sheran Waliye, Mein Aaya Mein Aaya Sheran Waliye' is still on the tongues of children.
