"Don’t think there is any bigger superstar than Satya Sai Baba says Anup Jalota".

Singer and former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant Anup Jalota, who is playing the titular role in ‘Satya Sai Baba’, has said that he doesn’t think there is a bigger superstar than late Indian godman. He also added saying that he feels fortunate he was closely associated with Satya Sai Baba and he learned many things from him.

Anup Jalota was interacting with News Helpline to promote ‘Satya Sai Baba’ on Friday in Mumbai.

The biographical drama film is releasing in theatres on 22nd January in Hindi, English, Telugu, and Marathi languages, talking about the release of the film, Jalota said, “I don’t think there is any bigger superstar than Satya Sai Baba. Now not many films are released in theatres but our film is releasing all over the country and world. Now there are only 10-12 days left for the release of the film, so I feel fortunate so many people are going to watch our film. Last year, I also worked in ‘Paatal Lok’ but still, there are people who don’t know that I can act as well, so it’s a good opportunity for me to show my acting skills apart from singing.”

Satya Sai Baba was a guru and philanthropist, born into a Telugu - speaking Bhatraju family. At the age of fourteen, he claimed that he was the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba, and left his home in order to serve society and be an example to his followers. He died in April 2011 at the age of 84.

Sai Baba's purported materializations of vibhuti (holy ash) and other small objects such as rings, necklaces, and watches, along with reports of miraculous healings, resurrections, clairvoyance, bilocation, and alleged omnipotence and omniscience, were a source of both fame and controversy. His acts were based on sleight of hand though his devotees believe them signs of his divinity.

From the former President of the country, late Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam to superstar Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and former Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, and Sachin Tendulkar believed in him (Satya Sai Baba).

Jalota added, “I feel after watching this film, people will become aware of his social work. He built a hospital in Bengaluru which provides free treatment to people who are battling heart ailments. I think no one can offer such kind of service to the society other than Satya Sai Baba, so I feel fortunate that I was closely associated with him and I learned so many things from him.”

The film is directed by Vicky Ranawat and produced by Balkrishn Shrivastav. It also features Jackie Shroff, Sadhika Randhawa, Govind Namdev, Arun Bakshi, Sudhir Dalvi, and Mushtaq Khan in key roles.
