Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar celebrates the release of Don 2, as the movie clocks nine years of its release.
Don 2 has completed nine years of its release into the theatres, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles.
Farhan Akhtar took to his social media and dropped a motion poster, featuring the entire ensemble. He captioned it, “9 years and counting, the chase is still on. At the time of its release, the film was one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time and is the third highest-grossing Indian film of 2011. The film received a number of accolades across various ceremonies in India. The film received five nominations at the 57th Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director for Akhtar, and Best Actor for Khan, winning Best Sound Design and Best Action.
The action sequences of the Don 2 were choreographed by international stunt director Wolfgang Stegemann. The action thriller that was released on 23rd December 2011 also featured Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani, Lara Dutta, Kunal Kapoor, and late Om Puri in the lead roles.
The film was bankrolled by Excel Entertainment. The official handle of the production house also dropped a never before seen video of the cast, talking about their experience on the film.
