Singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan turns 53 years old today and celebrates his birthday with his partners, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa.
Ehsaan Noorani shared a picture of Shankar Mahadevan along with Loy on his social media profile and wished his partner and friends on his birthday. He tweeted, “Happy birthday to one of the most positive human beings I have known and without a doubt one of the finest musicians ever @Shankar_Live have a gorgeous day!!!!!”
Shankar Mahadevan started learning music from the age of five. His first mentor was Shrinivas Khale, a popular Tamil composer. But due to his merit in studies, his parents decided to teach him music as well as engineering. He did engineering in computer science from Mumbai but his true calling for music.
In 2000, he received the National Award for singing for the first time in a Tamil film with Rahman and also gained recognition in the world of music and in 1998 he sang an album called 'Breathless' which gained immense popularity and gave Shankar Mahadevan superstar in just a night.
Mahadevan was honored with Padma Shri Award for his contributions to Film Music in 2019.
