Henry Cavill is the Witcher

The Witcher is one of the most popular and award winning game series. The three games are credited by changing the way adventure/fantasy games were seen by the audience and the industry. In a major move to get non Disney content Netflix has commissioned the first season of a web series based on the games. Henry Cavill is roped in to play the role of the ancient witch hunter. The Netflix Original series will have eight episodes. Alik Sakharov will direct four episodes and Alex Garcia Lopez will handle two others, while Charlotte Brandstorm will handle other two. All three have action series in their resume. Alik did House of Cards, Alex did Luke Cage and Charlotte has done Outlander. Adnrzej Sapkowski, who created the series, is involved inn the project himself and is very excited about Cavill joining the cast.  This is the first web series that will be based on a game character.

Cavill burst into the scene a few years ago as Superman in Man of Steel. Since then, he’s been a DC regular, acting in more than three films as Superman. His recent non superhero outing was Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation, where he shared screen space with Tom Cruise.
