"It’s a dream come true moment for me to play the role of a soldier in ‘Fauji Calling’ says Ranjha Vikram Singh".

Actor Ranjha Vikram Singh, who is playing the role of an army officer in a forthcoming film titled ‘Fauji Calling’, has said that it was a dream come true moment for him as an actor to play the role of an Indian army officer in the film as he always idolized becoming a soldier in his school days.
Ranjha Vikram Singh was interacting with News Helpline to promote ‘Fauji Calling’ in Mumbai.
‘Fauji Calling’ explores the various aspects of the life of soldiers and the struggle of their families. It is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 12 March 2021.
During the interview, Singh said that it was dream come true moment for him as an actor to play the role of a soldier because during his school days, he dreamt of joining the security forces of the country, he said, “I have done a lot of action in my previous Hindi and South-Indian films but this is the first time, I got the opportunity to explore the emotional journey of a soldier. Since my school days, it was my dream to become a soldier and serve our nation. I used to get attracted by their uniforms, shoes, and personality but later, I became an actor, so when the makers of this approached me to play the role of a soldier in the film then it was like a dream come true moment for me as an actor.”
He added, “I am really glad that at this stage of my career, I got such a beautiful character to play which shows real emotions of soldiers and their families. I also decided to produce the film because I really liked its storyline and my love for soldiers of our country.”
Talking about the storyline of the film, Singh said, “I think this is the first time anyone has made a film based on a martyr's family member’s life. This film is a tribute to every soldier and his family. Soldiers of the Indian army get approximately 40 days of leave in the entire year and during that period; they try to spend maximum time with their family members but remaining part of the year, they live without their families to protect the citizens of this country, so during that time what kind of circumstances soldiers and their families go through in their lives, we have tried to showcase those aspects through our film.”
Talking about his character in the film, Singh said, “I am playing the role of an army officer Rajveer Singh who is posted near Srinagar in the film. He keeps missing his family members but at the same time, he has the passion to serve his country. There are two meanings of the title of this film - firstly, his country is calling him, and then his family is calling him so we have tried to showcase what kind of emotions a soldier goes through while he is performing his duty. We can’t even match when it comes to what they go through in their daily life. I feel the film will be able to connect with the audience purely because of its emotions because most of the time, we also stay away from our families due to work purposes.”
‘Fauji Calling’ is directed by Aaryaan Saxena and produced by Ranjha Vikram Singh and Ovez Shaikh under the banners of Running Horses Films and Ovez Productions.
The film stars Sharman Joshi, Ranjha Vikram Singh, Bidita Bag, Mahi Soni, Mugdha Godse, Zarina Wahab, and Shishir Sharma in key roles.
