"It’s just too humbling and overwhelming to get an immense amount of love".

Actress Anangsha Biswas, who has recently featured in Amazon Prime Video’s second season of ‘Mirzapur’, is feeling overwhelmed with the audience's response to her performance in the show. She added that in the third season of ‘Mirzapur’ the audience is going to get a lot more entertained than in previous seasons of the show.

Anangsha Biswas was interacting with the media at Dada Saheb Phalke Award Ceremony 2020 on Tuesday in Mumbai.

Every character from both seasons of ‘Mirzapur’ has been appreciated by the audience and Anangsha’s character named Zarina Begum is one of them, talking about the audience response to her performance in ‘Mirzapur’, she said,  “I feel very blessed and grateful that makers of the show gave me an opportunity to play Zarina’s character. I am really glad that the audience has appreciated my performance in both seasons of the show. I think it’s just too humbling and overwhelming when you get an immense amount of love from the audience.”          

Anangsha is going to reprise her role in the third season of ‘Mirzapur’, when asked about the upcoming season of the show, she said, “My lips are sealed but I am very excited for it and I think it’s just the beginning and audiences are going see a lot more in the upcoming season of the show.”

Talking about the growing popularity of digital platforms in India, Anangsha said, “Now it (popularity of digital platforms) will grow a lot more. It’s like a wild-fire and it is going to be more popular among the audience. Now, we all are stuck at our homes because of the covid-19 situation, so I think OTT (platforms) is the way to go and it’s the future.”

Anangsha has earlier worked in films like ‘Benny and Babloo’, ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ and ‘Fraud Saiyaan’. She has also appeared in two seasons of the web series ‘Mirzapur’ and ‘Hostages’.

Anangsha won the Best Actress Jury award at the award ceremony for her performance in ‘Mirzapur’, sharing her feelings after winning the award, she said, “It’s my first award, so it’s very special. I wish that my parents and elder sister were here to witness this moment but unfortunately, because of the covid-19 situation, they are not living with me at the moment. I feel it's quite a good acknowledgment of my craft and talent.”

Talking about her upcoming projects, she said, “Apart from ‘Mirzapur 3’, I am also doing a film called ‘Taxi No. 24’ which also stars Mahesh Manjrekar ji, so it’s exciting times for me as an actor. I hope that I will be able to do a lot more work in the future.”

‘Taxi No. 24’ is directed by Saumitra Singh and it is produced by Saviraj Shetty. It narrates the story of a young man, who boards the cab of a driver paranoid with the news that a serial killer is set loose in Mumbai.

The film also stars Girish Sharma, Rajat Arora, Shalini Chauhan, Amisha Sinha, Ankita Sahu and Tushar Rungta in key roles.
