Filmmaker Kabir Khan, Film production companies Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films have teamed up with former tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi's apparel and accessories company Swag Fashions Hub Pvt Ltd to launch a merchandise collection for their sports drama film ‘83’ starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
Sharing a small video about the development on his Instagram handle, Kabir Khan wrote, “For all our fans out there... here’s a shoutout from the 83 Squad for @83Believe. Grab the official merchandise NOW!! @ranveersingh @sarkarshibasish @mbhupathi @83believe @83thefilm @fuhsephantom @reliance.entertainment @swagfashionshub”. In the video, Kabir Khan is seen unboxing special merchandise along with Reliance Entertainment’s CEO Shibasish Sarkar and Mahesh Bhupathi.
The merchandise brand titled ‘83 Believes’ offers cricket-themed products inspired by the Indian team's victory in the tournament, including apparel, clothing accessories, home furnishings, pillows, crockery, furniture, travel bags, backpacks, drinkware, wall-decor, clocks, and face masks.
The Kabir Khan-directed film ‘83’ is slated for release on 4 June, and it is based on India’s victory in the 1983 cricket World Cup with Ranveer Singh playing the role of Captain Kapil Dev.
The film also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, Sahil Khattar, Amrita Puri, and many others in key roles.
