Kabir Singh gets Adults Only Certificate

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani romance each other in Kabir Singh, the Bollywood version of the hit Arjun Reddy. The movie has created the right buzz in the media and some controversy too. The post break up depression, the alcoholism and the violence has ruffled some feathers. And as expected, the film has got an Adults Only certificate. This is not surprising, because the original Arjun Reddy had got an A certificate as well. However, this becomes one of the few Shahid Kapur films that have earned the A certificate. Shahid Kapoor has a romantic hero character and has a very good young fan base as well – especially  because of his dancing capabilities. This fan base will not be able to see this film, at least in the theaters. The producers have already clarified that this film is not meant for kids.

Kapoor is not new to the Censor Board issues as well. Earlier, his film, Udta Punjab was stuck in the Censors for a long time, until the courts had to intervene and release the film with very few cuts. In the film, Shahid Kapoor plays a man who goes into depression and turns into an alcoholic after a breakup. What happens to him forms the rest of this romantic drama.
