Kamal Hassan Criticizes PM Modi Decision On Lighting Candles, Lamps And Torches

Veteran actor, Kamal Haasan criticised the step of Prime Minister urging people to come out with lamps, torches, candles or even use mobile phone’s flashlights for 9 minutes at 9 pm on April 5 to mark the fight against Covid-19. The Prime Minister has also requested people to remain indoors and not form groups.
While many Bollywood celebs like Arjun Kapoor, Hema Malini and others lauded PM Modi’s #9baje9minute initiative, Kamal Haasan, in a tweet, said that he expected Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the concerns about PPEs, shortage of essential goods and livelihood of the poor.
He tweeted in Tamil and it’s English translation reads as, “I had high expectations when it was said the Prime Minister was going to talk…(and it would be on) solutions to the shortage of protection equipment, free supply of essential goods, the livelihood of the poor, future economic measures, etc. But, he is talking about the torchlight which we had taken it a long time ago.”
On the professional front, Kamal Haasan will be next seen in Shankar’s Indian 2. Indian 2 is aTamil-language vigilante action thriller film directed by S. Shankar. A sequel to the 1996 film Indian, the film is being produced by Subaskaran Allirajah‘s Lyca Productions.
The film also stars Nedumudi Venu reprising their roles from the first film, while new cast comprises of Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Rakul Preet Singh and Priya Bhavani Shankar.
The story follows Senapathy’s return to eliminate rising corruption in youth and he’s forced to rely on his intellect when his body starts failing him. The film is scheduled to be released in 2021.
