Kedarnath in eye of controversy already

As we predicted, Kedarnath has already become the subject of protests. A religious group in Kedarnath and even the locals of Kedarnath are up in arms even before the film has released. The group says that the concept of the film is actually love jihad. They have also protested against the posters, which show Sushant Singh, who plays a Muslim character, pulling Sara Ali Khan in a small basket.

The protests were imminent, and it’s mind boggling that the film makers didn’t anticipate that something like this would happen. While the narrative in films is now changing, films like Satyameva Jayate show that the Muslims are the downtrodden lot – it would take decades for the Indian audience to accept a film like Kedarnath without the usual protests and problems.
