Playing Astha in 'The Married Woman' has been a fulfilling experience
Ekta Kapoor's Married Woman' which is releasing on 8th March 2021, Woman's day has been creating buzz ever since the trailer of the show was released. The show which is based on Manju Kapoor's novel of the same name showcases a promising tale of love between two people of the same gender. Ridhi Dogra and Monica Dogra play the lead in the show.
Ridhi who plays the role of Astha in the show talks about her experience working on the show and said, "Playing Astha in 'The Married Woman' has been a fulfilling experience for me as an artist and as a person.It is a very important story and I am happy I got a chance to showcase it to the audience. It was an enriching experience for me to work on this show."
Talking about her character Astha, she said, "I feel like we are meeting Astha at a point in her life where she is asking questions. She is questioning the systematic ways of society. Peeplika played by Monica Dogra and Astha's character are too different from each other yet they have the same emotions. "
Showing love between the same gender will surely have judgments passed by the audience. Reacting to that, she said, "I feel people always judge. Till the time you are aware of your choice and you own them, everything will be fine. If you don't like something, you cannot stop anyone else from loving it."
The show is based on Manju Kapoor's novel. Did she read the book before performing her part, she said, "I was so happy when I was offered the role and was given the book to read. I will say I did not read it completely but read a big chunk of it. "
The Married Woman is directed by Sahir Raza which is releasing on Alt Balaji on 8 March 2021. The show features Ridhi Dogra, Monica Dogra, Suhas Ahuja, and Nabeel Ahmed in prominent roles.
