Rajkummar Rao announces plans for Stree 2

This could be the fastest sequel for a Bollywood film and a Bollywood horror comedy. Rajkummar Rao, who’s basking in the success of Stree has said that they were now giving serious thought to a sequel to the film. Rao said that the idea of an sequel was always in the works, but they didn’t give any serious thought to it because they wanted to know the audience’s reaction. With that being overwhelmingly positive, it is only a matter of time that the sequel will be announced.

Horror films get a sequel pretty quickly in Bollywood as well as Hollywood. In Bollywood, apart from cliche horror in the eighties and nineties., most of the horror films became franchises. Jism became one, Zeher became one, then there was Raaz.

The film has had an overwhelming response from critics as well as the audiences. This is the second Raj and DK film that has won such rave reviews. Their earlier film, Go Goa Gone had been as successful and audiences are waiting for a sequel for that film as well. One of the other films that they made with Saif Ali Khan,  Kaalakandi, didn’t do so well at the box office.
