Sanjay Leela Bhanshali bags Kaththi Remake Rights

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is back with his penchant for remaking south films. This time, he has acquired the rights to remake the superhit Kaththi into Hindi. The film is an interesting crime drama, in which two lookalikes are completely different – one is a scientist and another is a street goon. Reports suggest that SLB is looking to have Akshay Kumar or Ranveer Singh to play the role.

Earlier, Bhansali has made Rowdy Rathore, another remake of a South Indian superhit, Akshay Kumar. Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have worked together the Ram Leela and Padmaavat. So, it will be interesting to see who bags the role at the end of the day. If Ranveer bags the role, this will be the first time that SLB and Ranveer will be working on a non period piece.

It will be interesting to see who plays the role. Akshay was earlier approached for the role, but there were some discussions about additions and removals from the script. Ranveer Singh is already working on the remake of the South superhit film, Temper. Earlier, the producers of Kathathi, Lyca Productions, got interested in the Bollywood market after their film Khaidi No 150 was remade into some South languages.
