Stephen King makes a stunning reveal on Twitter

Stephen King is hailed as the master of horror. He has single handedly kept the horror genre alive and rejuvenated. While his books are as entertaining as ever, his Twitter account has kept his fans in the know since a while. A few hours ago, he made a startling reveal. In a tweet, he revealed that on June 19, 1999, he was hit by a truck and the doctors were planning to amputate the leg. However, they didn’t carry out the amputation and decided to let King keep the leg on a trial basis. King went on to say that every day in these seven years has been a blessing for him – with his leg still in place. It just goes to show that celebrities too can have loss of life and limb like anyone else in the world.
On June 19th, 1999 I got hit by a van while taking a walk. As I lay unconscious in the hospital, the docs debated amputating my right leg and decided it could stay, on a trial basis. I got better. Every day of the 20 years since has been a gift.
