The minimum temperature, on Thursday, across Kashmir Valley and Ladakh plummeted to -7 degrees Celsius and -27.1 degrees Celsius in Drass.
The weather office forecasts another spell of snow and rain during the next three days. The Valley is expected to witness moderate snow in the hills and plains and rainfall in the plains of Jammu starting Friday.
The official of the Weather office said, "Maximum activity is likely on 23rd and 24th of January".
Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg record minus 7 degrees Celsius, minus 9.3 degrees Celsius, and minus 7.8 degrees Celsius respectively as minimum temperatures.
The minimum temperatures recorded at Leh, Kargil, and Drass areas minus 16.2 degrees Celsius, minus 18.4 degrees Celsius, and minus 27.1 degrees respectively.
The minimum temperature in surrounding cities is recorded as Jammu 5.7 degrees Celsius, Katra 7.5 degrees Celsius, Batote 4.3 degrees Celsius, Bannihal 4.8 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah minus 0.5 degrees Celsius.
The 40-day long of harsh winter cold 'Chillai Kalan' will end on January 31.
