"Trying to create the more engaging and gritty plot for the third season of ‘Aashram’ says writer Tejpal Singh Rawat".
Writer Tejpal Singh Rawat, who has written the screenplay for the first two seasons of the crime-drama web series ‘Aashram’, has said that he already started working and researching for the third season of the show. He added that he is trying to create a more engaging and gritty plot along with his co-writers after witnessing success for the first two seasons of the show.
Tejpal Singh Rawat was interacting with the media at the success party of ‘Aashram’ along with Bobby Deol and Anuritta Jha on Wednesday in Mumbai.
‘Aashram’ is written by filmmaker-writer Habib Faisal and the screenplay of the series is written by Kuldeep Ruhil, Tejpal Singh Rawat, Avinash Kumar, Madhvi Bhatt, talking about the success of the show, screenplay writer Tejpal Singh Rawat said, “We expected that the show will do well because we have a director like Prakash (Jha) Ji and a really talented actor like Bobby (Deol) and then it was our hard work in terms of writing, so more than expected we had a confidence that this show will be appreciated by the audience.”
When asked Rawat whether he feels that it has increased the responsibility of the makers of the show to come with good content for the third season, he said, “Definitely audience expects a lot from you when you make two successful seasons of a certain show, so it becomes your responsibility to come up with a good content, so now we have started researching for the next season and our team of writers are working on it, so draft by draft, we are trying to retain the characters as interesting as they were plus, we are trying to create more engaging and gritty plot.”
‘Aashram’ revolves around a Baba (preacher), played by Bobby Deol, known as 'Baba Nirala.' Whose followers have blind faith in him and will do anything that he asks of them. But Baba Nirala is a conman, who ensures that his devotees devote their wealth to him and stay attached to the Aashram for life.
Meanwhile, Darshan Kumar is a cop in this series and is adamant about unraveling the truth behind the skeletons and dead bodies recovered from the Aashram's property.
Talking about the success of both seasons of the show and his excitement for the third season, Bobby said, “I am also excited for it and I am also looking forward to it (third season). I just want to thank all the fans for the appreciation and love that we have received for ‘Aashram’.”
‘Aashram’s first season was made available for streaming on the OTT platform MX Player from 28 August 2020. The second season is available for streaming on the OTT platform MX Player from 11 November 2020.
Anuritta Jha who is playing one of the important characters in the show also talked about its success, she said, “After the release of the first season of the show, everybody was waiting for the second season, so we expected that audience will appreciate the second season as well but we didn’t expect that it will go beyond our own expectation ins terms of appreciation. I am really happy that the audience has given a positive response to the show, so we are not complaining!”
When asked Anuritta whether she feels that after two successful seasons, it increases the responsibility of makers to come up with good content for the next season, she said, “Yes of course! It is because ‘Aashram’ is one of the top running web series on the internet, so automatically it increases your responsibility to come up with better content and a good show. I am hoping that this show will do well in the future as well.”
‘Aashram’ is directed by Prakash Jha and it is produced under Prakash Jha Productions. The series stars Bobby Deol along with Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Anupriya Goenka, Adhyayan Suman, Vikram Kochhar, Tridha Choudhury, Tushar Pandey, Rajeev Siddhartha, Sachin Shroff, Tanmay Ranjan, Anurita Jha, Parinitaa Seth, Jahangir Khan, Kanupriya Gupta, Preeti Sood and Navdeep Tomar in key roles.
