Twitter shocked by similarities with Contagion plot and coronavirus pandemic

Gwyneth Paltrow’s 2011 release Contagion has become the talk of the town thanks to its shocking similarities to the current health care situation around the world. The actress last month joked about how similar is to coronavirus pandemic and now twitter is freaking out about the same.

Several fans also began noticing the similarities, and so did other filmmakers, Barry Jenkins (Moonlight) and Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead). The two were just as baffled by the film as the rest of the netizens.

Contagion’s popularity skyrocketed since January, it is now the number four on most rented films while it was 270th film in December 2019.  Here are some fand reaction after watching the film or the trailer.
