"Vishal Bhardwaj To Adapt Agatha Christie For Indian Audience".

After adapting Shakespeare for Indian celluloid, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is all set to embark on a new journey with Agatha Christie adaption for his fans.
Director Vishal Bhardwaj has partnered with Agatha Christie Limited to develop a series of movie adaptations for Indian audiences. The work on the script for the first film of the franchise is currently in development, but the name of her book being adapted first is yet to be announced. The first film is scheduled to go on floors in early 2021. The cast is also yet to be finalized.
Bhardwaj is best known internationally for his acclaimed Shakespeare trilogy “Maqbool,” (Macbeth) “Omkara” (Othello), and “Haider” (Hamlet).
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh dropped the deeds on the collaboration. He tweeted, “VISHAL BHARDWAJ - AGATHA CHRISTIE... #VishalBhardwaj - recognized for #Shakespearean trilogy [#Maqbool, #Omkara, #Haider] - partners with Agatha Christie Ltd to develop a series of big-screen adaptations for #Indian audiences... The first film in the franchise begins to shoot in 2021”
While iconic characters Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, and Tommy & Tuppence are identified with Agatha’s creations, but it’s been reported that Vishal will create a new pair of lead investigators inspired by one of her famous stories.
The first film will introduce a young heroine who is thrown into solving a murder, and teams up with an unlikely companion to unravel the case. Future films will follow the duo as they continue to investigate multiple murder mysteries.
