"Babil Khan Supports Anurag Kashyap, Shares A Strong Worded Post".
Since director Anurag Kashyap has been alleged for sexually abusing an actor named Payal Ghosh. Bit by bit his supporters are amplifying. Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan too has come forward to back up the filmmaker.
Babil took to his Instagram handle and shared a strong-worded post. Babil in his post stated that it’s a shame that the #metoo movement is being misused in such a malignant manner. And due to this, the women who will genuinely need its support will be left in dark.
The Instagram feed of Babil read, “It’s a shame that an invaluable movement like the #metoo is misused in such a malignant manner against a person that has actually inspired equality in an excruciatingly patriarchal industry. We now live in this strange age where it is easier to create a ‘truth’, and not manifest the truth. I pray that we evolve. The concern is that the metastasis of baseless accusations through the #metoo movement would ultimately diminish its credibility and women that genuinely need its support would be left in the dark, it is painful.”
Babil wrote, “Chin up, Anurag sir. I know you all are gonna hate me for this but I’ve got to stand up when something feels wrong. A lot of people in the comments are asking ‘What if the girl is right?’ I am trusting my judgment, I will take responsibility for my words if I’m wrong.”
About the allegations, in a social media post, Payal Ghosh. had alleged on Saturday that Anurag Kashyap had forced himself upon her. However, the filmmaker had issued a statement through his lawyer terming the allegations as “completely false, malicious and dishonest”.
Apart from Babil, Anurag has received support from Kalki Koechlin, Mahie Gill, Richa Chadha, Surveen Chawla, Tisca Chopra, Taapsee Pannu, and his ex-wife Aarti Bajaj.
