EXCLUSIVE! “Malaal” starring Sharmin Segal and Meezan in the lead gets a new release date.
Apparently movie goers have to wait much longer for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Malaal” starring Sharmin Segal and Mezaan. As it has been postponed to new date. Bhansali has reportedly been personally mentoring the two newbies since the last few months and ensured they are kept away from the media glare as he wanted them to be a surprise package for the audience.
The trailer of the film which was released a week ago depicts how an intense love story of Sharmil and Meezaan takes a tragic turn. The film is about Love blooms between neighbors in a Mumbai chawl. He is a Marathi-speaking and brash young man with nativist feelings, and she represents the Hindi-speaking North Indian community he claims to despise. That is, until she opens her mouth and speaks Marathi.
The romance proceeds despite obstacles, including from the young man’s political boss. The story has been attributed to Tamil director K Selvaraghavan, and the movie appears to be a loose remake of Selvaraghavan’s “7G Rainbow Colony” (2004). Helmed by Mangesh Hadawale the film is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain, and Krishan Kumar. The film is scheduled to hit theaters by 5th July 2019.
