Gurugram Police spreads road safety awareness with Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Kabir Singh’
Gurugram Police has taken a lesson from the Mumbai police and is using its social presence to influence the youth. Using a meme from Kabir Singh the department is trying to spread awareness about road safety.
Gurugram Police’s official twitter handle used a still from the popular Hindi movie, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, to educate young people about the use of helmets while riding a bike. A scene in the film shows, Shahid Kapoor’s character Kabir rushing to save his girlfriend Preeti, on his motorbike in a rage without wearing a helmet.
Gurugram Police very cleverly photoshopped a helmet onto Shahid’s head and wrote, “Always wear a helmet while driving.” The tweet on social media was captioned as, “Jab khud bachoge tabhi Preeti ko bacha paoge,” (When you yourself are safe, only then you can save Preeti).
