Jhanvi Kapoor in KJO’s Next About Woman Pilot?

Jhanvi Kapoor debuted in one of the most talked about films this year, with Ishan Khatter, Dhadak. She had a dream launch under the Dharma Films banner and looks like she’s there to stay. Karan Johar’s next project is about Gunjan Saxena, India’s first female helicopter pilot. There were rumors that Alia Bhatt, who had earlier played an amazing character in Raazi was in talks to play the female lead in the film. However, recently a photo of Jhanvi Kapoor and Gunjan Saxena made its way to the social networks, creating rumors about whether Jhanvi had tipped Alia to the post.

Gunjan is one of the first Indian women to fly a chopper. In 1999, she evacuated injured Indian soldiers from Kargil. Gunjan and her fellow flight lieutenant Srividya Rajan had faced enemy fire to bring the soldiers home. This is, truly, one of the many untold stories of bravery in the Indian army.

Of course, there is no official announcement about this, but sources say that Gunjan and Jhanvi have met and discussed, so Jhanvi can get the finer nuances of the character. If this is true, this will be Jhanvi’s third film with the Dharma banner. She will also part of Takht, the period drama that will go on floors sometime next year.
