Kalki Koechlin Celebrates International Women’s Day With Adapt Society
Kalki Koechlin speaks about pregnancy at the International Women’s Day event, ‘Women Matter’.
To mark the International Women’s Day, Adapt (Spastic Society of India) organized an event where prominent personalities including Bollywood actor, Kalki Koechlin shared their thoughts on the subject, ‘Women Matter’.
Kalki Koechlin Celebrates International Women’s Day With Adapt SocietyOrganized and sponsored by the Adapt society, the event highlighted many issues that are important for women in our society.
The session began by Dr. Mithu Alur, Founder Chairperson of ADAPT who spoke about her experiences while working for the spastic society over the years. This was followed by a panel discussion where Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin shared her stories and learning during and after pregnancy.
The second panel highlighted the way forward for women empowerment, where Shonali Bose, the director of Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra-starrer ‘The Sky is Pink’ and Margarita with a Straw (“where Kalki essayed the role of a girl with cerebral Palsy inspired by Malini Chib) shared her thoughts.
However the highlight of the evening was the wheelchair dance performed Malini Chib, Shonali Bose, Kalki Koechlin, Reshma Tanna, Fatima Electricwala which was choreographed by Dr. Mithu Alur. They danced to two songs, ‘I have a dream’ and ‘Women are smarter than men’.
It was a perfect end to an enlightening and entertaining evening.
