Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar wraps the shooting of forthcoming real life drama, Chhapaak starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in the lead roles.

Chhapaak is based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, the film is produced by Deepika Padukone and Meghna Gulzar in collaboration with Fox Star Studios.

The filmmaker Meghna Gulzar just took to her social media profile and shared wrap-up pictures from the sets. She captioned it, “And we wrapped #chapaak. Malti… Amol…I will carry you with me. Thank you for your faith and for pouring yourself into our film! @deepikapadukone @masseysahib”

The film has been making headlines ever since the first look poster of Deepika Padukone as Malti was released by the makers. The actress will play Malti in the much-anticipated film, which celebrates the undying human spirit that doesn’t give up despite adversities at every step.

‘Chhapaak’ will also see the actress foray into production under her banner, KA Entertainment. The film will be helmed by Meghna Gulzar, who is known for directing true-life stories with authenticity and grit.

‘Chhapaak’, produced by Fox Star Studios, KA Entertainment and Mriga Films, is scheduled to release on January 10, 2020.
