No Progress on Aankhen 2 As Yet

Aankhen was a runaway hit when it released. Given the starcast and the film’s success, a sequel was inevitable. Director Gaurang Doshi, who was embroiled in litigation after the success of the film, even announced the sequel to the film several times. There are reports that Gaurang has been looking to secure financiers for the film. But now, there are reports that Anees Bazmee has been roped in to direct the sequel, and there’s no set date about when the film will release – because the starcast has not yet been rocked. The original film had about six main characters, and the makers will find it difficult to replace the likes to Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Sushmita Sen and Arjun Rampal.

Anees Bazmee currently has three films in his kitty, including Pagalpanti with John Abraham, No Entry Mein Entry with Arjun Kapoor and Anil Kapoor and another film that’s as yet unannounced. Therefore, it will be difficult for the ace director to decide when Aankhen 2 will finally go on floors.
