Pahlaj Nihalani goes to court over Rangeela Raja and the CBFC

Pahlaj Nihalani gained popularity when he became the CBFC Chief and began cutting scenes from films.  Things came to a head when he started cutting scenes from films like Udta Punjab. He was finally ousted from the position. Now, as a Producer, he is at logger heads with the same CBFC that he headed a while ago. He claims that the CBFC is asking for unjustified cuts in his upcoming film, Rangeela Raja, which is the return of Govinda to his camp. He had earlier alleged that the Yash Raj film, Thugs of Hindostan, had been censored earlier than his film. Now, he claims that the CBFC is asking for as many as 20 cuts.

The film is the third film that Govinda has acted in after his comeback. Govinda’s first film after a long time was Aa Gaya Hero. He then was part of FryDay and this will be his third film. None of his films have set the box office ringing, so it remains to be seen what happens with this film.
