Sonakshi Sinha in Mungda remake for Total Dhamaal

Sonakshi Sinha has moved to the beats of one of the most famous Bollywood song, Mungda, for the film Total Dhamaal. The song, sung and danced to since at least three decades, was originally picturised on Helen, and has become quite the rage. Kookie Gulati, one of Indra Kumar’s associates has directed the song.  Gourov-Roshin recreated the song and sources say that the song has the same pace and verve that the original song had. Adil Shaikh did the choreography and Mohit Rai put together the look for Sonakshi.

Since  a long time, the controversy whether newer performers should be allowed to remake old classics has been brewing. Recently, Lata Mangeshkar lashed out against the remix of her song, Chalte Chalte, which was part of the new film Mitron. Even music directors have accepted that they don’t like making remixes, but are forced to do so because of the producers wanting a certain song or a nuance in the film.
