Sushmita Sen to make comeback with cop film?
One of Sushmita Sen’s most powerful roles was in the underrated Samay, where she played a cop who was out to catch a dreaded criminal. The psychological drama is hailed as one of India’s best and Sushmita’s performance her career best. Now, reports suggest that Sushmita might be making a comeback with a film that has her play, once again, an upright cop. According to sources, the film is set in a small town in Madhya Pradesh and Sushmita Sen is set to play a cop in the small town. The sources say that an official announcement will be made in a month or so.
Sushmita had earlier said at an event that she was now ready for scripts and was ready to invest six months of her life to a film, but she wasn’t sure that the right script would come to her at the right time.
According to the sources, earlier, there as a different director attached to the project, but that has changed. Even Sushmita has provided some inputs to the film’s script, which are currently being implemented into the script. With this, Sushmita Sen becomes the first Bollywood heroine to play a cop the second time. Before her, actresses like Rekha, Hema Malini, Priyanka Chopra and Rani Mukerji have played female cops on screen.
